Job Summary:
The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for all IT-related aspects of the retail shop. This includes addressing hardware and software issues, managing the network, ensuring accurate product listings and pricing, and enhancing the IT infrastructure to meet business needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Fault Resolution:
- Promptly respond to and resolve hardware and software faults reported by retail shop staff.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues related to computers, peripherals, and other IT equipment.
Network Management:
- Maintain and monitor the local network for smooth operations.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and collaborate with the university IT department for support.
Product Management:
- Enter product information accurately into the inventory management system.
- Manage product pricing and ensure it reflects current promotions or changes.
System Development:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to address business challenges and develop IT solutions.
- Develop or enhance systems and applications to meet evolving business needs.
Documentation and Training:
- Maintain accurate records of IT-related activities.
- Document system configurations and procedures for future reference.
- Provide training and support to retail shop staff on the proper use of IT systems.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (preferred).
- Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified IT) are advantageous.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the retail business environment.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in operating systems, software applications, hardware components, and network protocols.
- Experience with inventory management systems and retail POS systems is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Adaptability to evolving technology and business needs.
