QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 5 ‘O’ Levels including Mathematics and English
  • At least 2 years’ experience FMCG retail industry.
  • An understanding of Marketing & Public relations concepts

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Effective implementation of product merchandising and shelf management in the Floors department aimed at exceeding customer expectations.
  • The Merchandiser is responsible for ensuring effective sales execution by demonstrating and applying merchandising principles and creating a unique shopping experience aimed at attaining excellent service delivery, generation of sales, and minimizing losses.
  • The incumbent is also responsible for assisting walk-in customers promptly and professionally adhering to customer care standards
  • Executes product merchandising in line with the agreed plan as communicated by the Floor Supervisor from time to time, creating customer excitement and increased sales.
  • Conduct regular expiries and freshness checks daily to ensure the merchandised products meets the expected quality at all times.
  • Conduct daily price checks and updates the price talkers.
  • Maintain store shelves by observing displays of products, removing damaged or expired products, tidying store shelves, providing optimum display of products.
  • Deliver excellent standards of customer service at all times by listening, understanding and dealing with customer queries in a confident, professional, knowledgeable and friendly manner.
  • Obtain information on promotions of the day and apply upselling and cross selling
  • Ensure all shelves are cleaned daily and products are free from dirt.
  • Implements and maintain a high level of personal grooming and hygiene to complement the standard of the store at all times.
  • Effectively display time management, initiative, teamwork and communication skills, adhering to laid down procedures.
  • Carrying out any other relevant functions as assigned.
