CONTRACT VACANCIES
Applications are invited from suitably qualified, experienced and motivated candidates to
fill the following 6-month fixed term contract vacant positions that have arisen at Hwange
Power Station – Unit 5 Repowering Project. All applicants should provide their telephone

POST A: ENGINEERS
1. MECHANICAL ENGINEER (X1)
Qualifications and Experience
- A Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent
- At least 2 years relevant post graduate experience in power industry or heavy industry.
- ECZ registration and/or membership of a professional engineering institution
- Knowledge of factories and Work Act, Electricity Act and ZESA Safety Rules
- Project Management Certification an added advantage
2. CONTROL AND INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEER (x1)
Qualifications and Experience
- A Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics or Applied Physics.
- ECZ registration and/or membership of a professional engineering institution
- At least 2 years’ experience in power industry or heavy industry
- Experience with DCS systems is an added advantage
- Project Management Certification an added advantage
3. ELECTRICAL ENGINEER (x1)
Qualifications and Experience
- A Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- ECZ registration and/or membership of a professional engineering institution
- At least 2 years’ experience in power industry or heavy industry
- Project Management Certification an added advantage
POST B: ARTISANS
1. FITTER (x20)
Qualifications and Experience
- National Craft Certificate or National Certificate in relevant trade
- Class 1 Skilled Worker Certificate
- 5 O’Levels including Maths, English and Science
- At least 2 years post apprenticeship training
2. BOILERMAKER (x9)
Qualifications and Experience
- National Craft Certificate or National Certificate in relevant trade
- Class 1 Skilled Worker Certificate
- 5 O’Levels including Maths, English and Science
- At least 2 years post apprenticeship training
3. HP WELDERS(x6)
Qualifications and Experience
- National Craft Certificate or National Certificate in relevant trade
- Class 1 Skilled Worker Certificate
- 5 O’Levels including Maths, English and Science
- At least 2 years post apprenticeship training
4. WELDERS(x4)
Qualifications and Experience
- National Craft Certificate or National Certificate in relevant trade
- Class 1 Skilled Worker Certificate
- 5 O’Levels including Maths, English and Science
- At least 2 years post apprenticeship training
5. RIGGER (x12)
Qualifications and Experience
- National Craft Certificate or National Certificate in relevant trade
- Class 1 Skilled Worker Certificate
- 5 O’Levels including Maths, English and Science
- At least 2 years post apprenticeship training
6. BRICKLAYER (x2)
Qualifications and Experience
- National Craft Certificate or National Certificate in relevant trade
- Class 1 Skilled Worker Certificate
- 5 O’Levels including Maths, English and Science
- At least 2 years post apprenticeship training
POST C: SKILLED WORKER
1. LAGGER (x5)
Qualifications and Experience
- Skilled Worker Certificate or equivalent in a relevant trade.
- At least 2 years relevant experience.
POST D: TECHNICIANS
1. PROCESS CONTROL TECHNICIANS (x4)
Qualifications and Experience
- 5 O’Levels including Maths, English and Science
- National Diploma in Instrumentation and Control
- Experience with DCS, PLC and SCADA systems is an added advantage
- Recognised Apprentice Training
- 2 years relevant post apprentice experience
POST E: SAFETY OFFICER (x2)
Qualifications and Experience
- A degree in Environment health & safety or other relevant discipline
- Two(2) years post graduate experience in power generation or heavy industry
- SAATCO, OSHEMAC is a requirement
- Membership of a recognized professional institution
- Computer literacy
- Clean Class 4 driver’s licence
POST F: BUYER (x1)
Qualifications and Experience
- A degree in Purchasing & Supply or equivalent
- Membership of a recognized professional institution
- At least 2 years post graduate experience
- Project management experience an added advantage
POST G: STORES CLERK (X1)
Qualifications and Experience
- 5 ‘O’ levels including English Language and Mathematics / Accounts
- National Certificate in Purchasing and Supply Chain / Business Studies or Stores
equivalent - Computer literacy
- At least 2 years relevant experience
POST H: SCAFFOLD INSPECTOR (X1)
Qualifications and Experience
- 5 ‘O’ levels including English Language and Mathematics
- Certification in Scaffolding and Inspection
- At least 2 years previous relevant work experience
POST H: FORKLIFT DRIVER(X1)
Qualifications and Experience
- Skilled Worker Class 3
- Certificate in Crane operation or equivalent in a relevant trade.
- At least 2 years relevant experience
