STAFF VACANCY – LABORATORY TECHNICIAN
The Faculty of Social Sciences at Midlands State University is inviting applications from qualified and experienced individuals for the position of Laboratory Technician within the Department of Applied Psychology.
Qualifications and Experience:
- BSc Honours Degree in Psychology with at least a 2.1-degree class.
- At least a 2.1 pass in the Introduction to Information Technology university module.
- Proficiency in statistical packages such as SPSS for quantitative data analysis and NVIVO for qualitative data analysis is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in a related field is an added advantage.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collecting and analyzing experimental and research data, and maintaining records.
- Demonstrating an understanding of units of measurements and basic statistical calculations.
- Following instructions with a systematic approach to tasks.
- Setting up and operating equipment/apparatus.
- Solving minor computer issues.
- Maintaining an orderly and effective laboratory.
